C-Span: Vets Day Programming on Book TV
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs' public program, The Iraq War: A True Account by the Soldiers Who Were There, was well-attended on Thursday evening, myself at the kind invitation of author Trish Wood.
Full video now available online:
Wood appeared on a beautifully set stage with Vietnam vet Bobby Muller (who wrote the Foreword) and Iraq vet Garett Reppenhagen (who appears in the book alongside 29 other battle buddies interviewed by Wood).
ePluribus Media's fabulous Cho and I have completed our review of Wood's worthy work, What Was Asked of Us: An Oral History of the Iraq War by the Soldiers Who Fought It.
C-Span's BookTV will be broadcasting last night's Chicago Council event with Wood and vets Muller and Reppenhagen.

About one million young Americans have rotated through Iraq since the start of the war in March 2003. Trish Wood, an award-winning investigative reporter who has been working with veterans of the Iraq war for more than two years, moderated a discussion with former army sniper Garett Reppenhagen and Bobby Muller, founder of Vietnam Veterans of America and of Veterans for America, a new program dedicated to meeting the needs of a new generation of veterans.
Wood’s book, What Was Asked of Us: An Oral History of the Iraq War by the Soldiers Who Fought It, details the history of the Iraq war through the eyes of those who actually fought in it.
